For Information
Men or women who wish to live a life dedicated to Mercy are invited to consider our community.
How? First, let's talk. Let's get to know one another and see if the OMC is the right path for you. If so, you may want to associate as an aspirant to take time to get to know our members and spirit.
To continue the process of joining the OMC one completes an application, psychological testing, and submits spiritual references, and criminal history and child abuse clearances from civil authorities.
The next step is novitiate where a vocation is tested through a period of a one year--a year of spiritual formation with time to become accustomed to our Rule and Constitutions, to become familiar with praying the Divine Office daily, and to follow a life of personal prayer and spiritual reading. Novitiate is non-residential and novices follow the program with the individual support and attention of a mentor in the OMC.
Each novice is also required to have a spiritual director, and be active in the spiritual and sacramental life of his or her Christian community.
At the end of the novitiate year, the novice professes FIRST vows for a period of three years.
After those three years the option of renewal of temporary vows, or profession of final perpetual vows is made.
