Work and interests ~ The ever growing anthology, Ancient Ghosts and Green Heart Songs is a project I began over 10 years ago. It's a grouping of songs about Family, Faith, and Heritage. It's kind of a journal in song and music. Tributes, Grief, Joy, Prayer, etc. Sister Sheila and I are pulling together a couple of children's books on Celtic saints. She does very neat illustrations! The texts are from some hymns in Ancient Ghost, "Brendan the Navigator" is the first, and the next will be the hymn, "Mary of the Gaels", about St. Brigid of Kildare. I think kids really need more books about saints! For the past 26 years I've worked as a chaplain in a ministry for abused women. Sad stuff! I'm currently working on CATACOMB PRODUCTIONS, a book of poetry on healing from sexual abuse. I think it's going to be a life-long project! I'm not a photographer, but I LOVE taking pictures, particularly of animals and nature. It's a hobby, but like music, I try to use it to capture moments and experiences that bring me closer to God. My love of animals inspires me to work with animal rescue and care. Here in the Poconos in PA, we're developing Brigid's Bord, to help some of the poor and homeless with food and clothing, and opportunity for prayer together. This half of my life is focused on the contemplative life, and the Poconos are the place to be with God! Come visit me on one of the radio shows I'm hosting.
